Disaster - a diagnosis of modern business is a hilarious and award-winning satirical "picture book" for business and all other people, created as an antidote to the current state of the business world.

Although it holds the word "business" in the title, the book talks about the daily struggles, frustration and laughter that life brings to all of us in work and life in general, through satirical cartoons, comments, texts and illustrations of situations we encounter every day.

As one of the reviews says, "conceived like a Tarantino film - you don't know what to expect on the next page". So - expect the unexpected. The book by the author team Crocon & Friends is awarded Best corporate book 2021 in the world by Content Marketing Institute. It is a guide and therapist for today's "gray" businessmen, an incentive to wake up from lethargy and escape from the bad habits of today's business style and content. A reminder, alarm and a guide to change.

Disaster picture book, what is it really?

A picture book for business people, like any picture book, is a kind of educational book, a book for re-education. It was created as a result of many years of business experience and everyday situations.

Through the concept of a clinic for the treatment of damaged business people (Pm clinic – PM = Croatian: a place of one’s origin in anatomical sense) in eight main sections (through the acronym DISASTER where each letter represents a chapter of modern business – D for Damnage, I for Intemperance, S for Shitfest, A for Anesthesia, S for Scam, T as Toxicity, E as Ego trip, R as buRotcracy), through invincible humor dissects the problems that need to be outlined: from the complete attack on our minds with unnecessary information, pressures and superficial distractions that lead to burn-out syndrome, to the unhealthy climate inside most organizations; from the disabling globalization to the extinction of business manners and principles; from the harmful rule of the ego to the cancer of entrepreneurship - bureaucracy within public services.

Wondering what is the problem?

The picture book playfully and mercilessly exposes the problems of today's "sick" business world. We constantly ask ourselves: Why is the heart of the business captured by a continuous parade of forms, questionnaires, too long contracts? Why do we spend 15+ years in an education system that doesn't prepare us for life? Why do we pay irresponsible slackers with real money when their work is fake? Why do relationships between business partners die out more and more and someone's word means less and less? Why do we complicate everything instead of simplifying? Why did we forget to listen?

And, what are we going to do about it?

The goal of this book is to change perceptions and break down stereotypes, to inspire and reshape minds and habits. In a seemingly simple and cheerful way, we want to encourage thinking about extremely serious and important topics of today's society and the business world, in the humble hope that we will encourage change in at least one reader. Our tools are humor and our spirit, effort and effort to shake the status quo. What we are doing is asking the questions that beg to be asked and we refuse to allow things to continue quietly in this way.

The DISASTER book is a project created by Linda Poščić Borovac and Ana Zoričić from Crocon d.o.o. from Kastav, and was created in collaboration with the famous Rijeka writer Zoran Krušvar and award-winning designer Veronika Uravić Čolak. The authors of the texts and the publishing company have won many international awards for their creative works over the years.
